Mojo? Where are you?

I have the white silk Burda blouse sitting on the sewing machine. I did type out the driections so my mature eyes can read them--and I think I better understand the steps I need to take to shirr the sleeves and back prior to inserting the invisible zipper. But, I have not sewed.

I traced and cut out two Ottobre garments for the 6 YO DGD--cute strawberry themed fabric that I bought from a coop member. The top is a short sleeved blouse, buttons up the front with cap sleeves and a shirred back. The bottom is a skort with a cargo pocket on the side. I do plan to sew this weekend. After the wildflower hike and some outside activities. I will sew.

I'm sewing--Burda #129 from 1/2009

I am making this blouse from a silk broadcloth and I think I am going to really like it. I have had to redo almost every step due to operator error, but I like the way it is turning out. I have to work in between sewing episodes, so maybe tomorrow there will be a photo!

keep on sewing!

Time?

Where does it go? We went to Reno to visit older son and his family--good time was had by all~ We skied, shopped, and just hung out. I even sewed a bit--I repaired my DGS's favorite sleeping bag. It's a bear that folds up into a back pack. It had been well worn and needed some repairing. It wasn't pretty sewing, but it will now last for a while longer.

We are home now. I worked yesterday and today we went to another DGS's 5th birthday party. No sewing for that occasion--he has enough clothing for himself and his younger brother for the year!!! But, it was also fun and we enjoy getting to see the kids and their friends.

Tomorrow--SEWING day! I have a couple of project ideas I want to try to get done.

I love reading other people's blogs--lots of lovely creations and clever adaptations of patterns I'd like to try!

Wadder

I finally got time to work on the Burda tunic--nope! I only need to hem the sleeves and the bottom of the tunic, but I'm done. I chose a light weight woven fabric and it looks like a scrub top--not what I'd hoped for. So, now to move on to something else.

Yesterday was the middle grand son's birthday--five already! We went out to lunch and all 3 kids got peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Funny!

I'll be back soon with a project that works--I have some fabric I really like and hope to make something I'll like from it!

Easter Embroidery

Here are some sideways photos of the t shirts I embroidered for my youngest 3 grand kids for Easter picnics. The two boys' shirts are the same, and my DGD's shirt is a girl's shirt with a seasonal design. She can wear it to school after the holiday.

I am off for a week, so I hope to sew this week!
