Better Photo

Here's the blue P/P pants with the LH sweater version of the Garbo! I have previous photos of these items, but they look better on a body! Photo taken in the courtyard of our home in Las Vegas.

Something for Me!

This is a photo of me wearing a LH Cowl top made from some FM acrylic knit--my first try at this one and a wearable muslin. Size sm with no alterations. The pants are the green/black suiting Europeans shown in a previous entry. We were out looking for kitchen remodel ideas at local model homes.

A Couple of Ottobre Items

Here are a couple of items I made for my younger DGD--both from Ottobre and both size 104 without any alterations. The shirt is the OD 301 t shirt pattern and the leggings are from the Fall 2007 issue. Lily's Leggings. These were NOT made to go together! I will post a photo of a pair of pink leggings and a tunic that I made earlier. She can wear the purple leggings with the tunic too. The shirt will match a skirt she got from her aunt for Christmas.

Fabric for the shirt from Fabric.com, a Chez Ami fabric.

Fabric for the leggings from Main Street by Mail. Both are online shops.

More Photos

OK--I see that my pictures come out all out of order. The photo with two pairs of pants are the European Pant by Loes Hinse--size small slightly shortened. The brownish ones have no zipper and are therefore pullon pants. The green pair do have a zipper. I did not use elastic in the green ones, just turned the facing over and hand basted. The brown pair have a "waistband" casing of elastic folded over and stitched by machine.

First jacket, then LH pants, then the PP McCalls pants. Here are the jacket and pants mentioned before--very dark navy twill from FM for the pants. The pattern is McCalls 5239 size 14--only shortened for length. The jacket is Garbo by Loes Hinse size small and the fabric was purchased from Casual Elegance in November.

Blogger won't let me add all of the photos--so here we go, one per post today!

Here are the promised photos--Not sure about order!

First should be the Burda Pinstriped pants--petite size 20. Navy wool blend from FM.

Happy New Year!

I am going to offer photos of some of my December projects in another post. I enjoyed sewing for the kids and grands--but didn't do as much as I'd hoped!

I made myself several pairs of pants--2 LH European pants--one with zipper and one without. I made a Garbo jacket from some sweater knit I purchased from Casual Elegance fabrics. I also made a pair of wool twill trousers using the Palmer/Plesch McCalls pattern--size 14. Right out of the envelope. IF I had Pati Palmer help me fit these I know there would be a few tweaks, but I am thrilled with the current fit!

I also made some navy wool pinstripe from a Burda WOF petite pants pattern--same as the previous orange ones. Love these, as the fabric is more drapey and I left the cuff feature on.

I made my younger DGD several pairs of leggings from the Ottobre pattern--Lily's leggings. They fit great and she loves them. Pink and purple! I also made her the hooded tunic to match. I will try to find a photo of her wearing them.

No photos will be forthcoming, but I did personalize several blankets and bibs for babies born this fall. One to a dear babe born in Slovenia to a young couple we met while traveling. One to my younger son's childhood buddy and his wife. More precious children in our world :>).

I knit myself a hat while in Reno for Christmas--rather in transit to and from. I will finish it and get a photo of that too.

Life is good. DH and I will celebrate 40 years of marriage this year. I will visit my HS girlfriends in April as we celebrate our 60th birthdays. It is going to be a wonderful year! Photos to come in next post.
