We're Home!

We had a fabulous time in both Spain and Portugal. What a treat! I did take DH on several hunts for periodicals from the area--photos to follow!

I have SO much laundry and reading to catch up on!

Redirection

Well, the sewing room will have a couple of last minute projects and then get cleaned up for a rest. We leave on vacation soon and I am not sewing last minute items to take. We will be gone for three weeks then home for a week before moving to the beach for the summer. I sew there too, so it won't be a long dry spell once I get home. Maybe I can finish the outfit I cut out for my DGD before I pack things up!

Happy sewing--I'll be reading blogs and mentally sewing while we travel. I'm hoping to pick up some Patrones magazines and will casually search for fabrics while we are gone.

It's Done--But I don't love it!

Here's the Burda #129 blouse. I love the fabric and even the shirt--just not on me! But, I did finish it--invisible zipper and all. Now I'll find someone who can wear a burda 38/40 blouse!
I wish I knew how to rotate photos on this format--but I obviously don't!

Projects--Some Complete, some still underway...

This is the Burda blouse in process...it is NOT done, obviously! I need to put in the size zipper and finish the hem. The fabric wrinkles very easily and the style may be too youthful for me. But, I am going to finish it. I can gift it to my nephew's wife if I decide it isn't for me.

These are t shirts I embroidered for my oldest grandson's 10th birthday party next week. Besides having the machine eat one sleeve and little things like that, they were easy and very repetative! DH digitized the Domo character for me. I had never heard of this critter, but DGS loves him and has various items with this design. Hats, toys, cards, etc. Fun for a 10 year old!

Here's a close up. DGS made up the "Domolicious" comment to complete the look! Last year we embroidered shirts with grand son's previous favorite phrase--Cheese tastes like bacon. He's a sweetheart--bright, athletic, cute, and very kind. He also has a love of the absurd!
At least I spent some time in the sewing studio this weekend! I'll see if I can get the blouse finished tonight.
